27th January 2022
Dear Parents and Students,
The start of a New Year is all about resolutions, fresh starts, and bettering ourselves. Despite the start of the year filling with threats of the spread of Omicron strains, it does not hinder us from setting our new goals and hopes for 2022. Being positive and thankful can keep us healthy and become rich in our heart so that we can embrace an ever-changing life with courage and gratitude.
Our admission interviews for S1 applicants have successfully been completed. Through the face-to-face interviews, I could personally meet P6 students with their parents directly. It was a blessing seeing applicants being enthusiastic to demonstrate their smart and lively response with good preparation. They showed their readiness to commit their future six-year study in CYMCASS. Parents also showed their eagerness to collaborate with their child at the interview, hoping to get a successful acceptance. Our school’s wide-life learning curriculum and vision & mission are found favorable in parents and students. I am delighted to see supportive and caring parents all the way through. There are many types of learners. However, in my eyes, I look for students who are with potential and talents in academic and non-academic performance but additionally they are humble and teachable. I have confidence that each accepted student is a piece of gemstone ready to be uniquely polished. Each of them will shine through the platform provided in CYMCASS.
Gospel keeps spreading in our campus and allows our students know the name of Jesus. At our last Christmas Service, gospel messages and an encouraging personal witness were shared by Rev. Suen and me. It was glad to see one hundred and forty students turn to Christ and sixty students showed their interest in knowing more about Jesus Christ. Our school badge includes a cross at the center in the triangle which signifies our strong uphold to Christian faith by nature. We believe that our quality Christian education cannot only build a student with a faithful and thankful heart but also it can make students grow spiritually in HIM. Indeed, it is in line with our school vision regarding cultivating a Christian character in students as our ultimate goal.
Due to the current severe epidemic situation, we have to switch to the online mode for lessons again. Most likely, the celebration of the Lunar New Year might be affected by the persistent epidemic. We still sincerely pray that it will be gone soon. Let me wrap up my words with God’s blessings to you and your family from the Bible.
‘’The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make HIS face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn HIS face toward you and give you peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)
